Now this is something special - a natural tan alpaca yarn that was handspun by Sandy Ryan of Wisconsin using fibers from her herd. She left these wonderful schlubs of the alpaca fibers randomly along the length of the yarn and I crocheted it in such a way that the schlubs all appear on one side. They're downy soft and such a completely integral part of the yarn that they'll never come off. Accompanying the tan alpaca is a natural white superfine alpaca yarn from Peru`. Tons of warmth and softness and plenty of length to cover your ears in this 100% natural alpaca Pussy Cap.

Three luxurious yarns have gone into this beautiful Pussy Cap. The blue yarn is a wonderfully soft alpaca from Sunrise Ranch in Kamas, Utah where my friend Deb McMurtrie keeps careful watch over her herd of alpacas and llamas. It was spun and dyed locally in Utah and went from Deb's hands to mine. The gorgeous natural silver angora fur was spun for me on Prince Edward Island in Canada and accompanies the blue alpaca throughout the cap. And finally, accenting is a maroon stunner that was also custom spun for me from the same mill in Canada from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. Thick, luxuriously soft and generously sized for anybody's head no matter what size or how much hair this is a Pussy Cap of heirloom quality and durability.

There are three beautiful yarns at work in this Pussy Cap and each one of them brings something really special to the mix. In the body of the cap I joined a strand of kid mohair with a strand of a luxurious Japanese silk ribbon yarn. They're beautiful together; the matte effect of the mohair with the shimmering luxe of the silk. Topping off the cap is a crown of handspun and handyed baby alpaca yarn from Lisa Souza in a rich pallet of purples that perfectly matches and compliments the yarns beneath it. The fit is generous and comfortable with warmth, durability and softness to spare.
$120.00 - Cap #11838-S
