The foundation for this Pussy Cap is a beautiful new millspun yarn from the same people in Canada that I get my Qiviut from. It's a blend of 50% Qiviut and 50% Merino wool, both in their natural light tan colors. The softness and lightness of the Qiviut comes shining through and to the touch it's hard to tell it from the pure Qiviut yarn. I doubled the yarns here so the cap has a nice cushy thickness and a ton of softness. Accenting in triplet stitches is a superfine alpaca yarn from Peru` in shades of black, brown and tan. A classic beanie cap fit and style that will keep you warm and well-protected. Really nice looking on.

This is a very special custom Pussy Cap for Chloe, the soon-to-be-born grandaughter of one of my longtime clients. The white yarn you see here is Royal Cashmere, an extremely rare and prized fiber that's the softest and most luxurious of all of the cashmeres on earth. It was custom spun for me and my client by Lisa Souza who turned these precious cashmere fibers into a work of textural art. For an accent I added a single row of Lisa's hand-dyed Bombyx silk in pink. Truly an heirloom quality gift for a very special little girl.

This is one of my signature Koigu Pussy Caps, so named because of the three strands of Koigu Merino wool from Canada that it's made from. Handpainted by Maie and Taiu Landra of Ontario, Koigu is a wonderfully soft, durable and stretchy yarn that when tripled makes for a thick, warm and protective Pussy Cap. Here we have a strand of light bronze, a strand of pale blue and a strand of warm ivory all crocheted together. They're accented with a soft, fuzzy alpaca yarn in its natural dark brown color that was handspun by Marsha Berkemeier of Missouri. This is a bigger fit than my Koigu caps usually are so it will comfortably fit any size head while still being snug enough that it'll stay put and not get sloppy.

Two beautiful handspun yarns from Lisa Souza here in this soft and lightweight Pussy Cap. Most of the cap is crocheted from a blend of silk & merino that Lisa hand-dyed a pallet of shimmering blues that transition imperceptibly one into the other as they work their way up the cap. Accenting in the band and around the border of the cap is an alpaca yarn in its natural silvery-grey that Lisa handspun from a prize-winning fleece from Lassen View Alpacas in northern California. This Pussy Cap is soft and warm but has a lot of breathing room between the stitches so it's likely to be a good choice for all kinds of weather. An easy, comfortable fit with lots of length, this wonderfully stretchy cap will stay close to the head without squeezing it.

Natural silver alpaca from a prize-winning fleece gets us started here. This valuable alpaca fiber from Lassen View Ranch Alpacas was handspun by Lisa Souza and has a beautiful furry look to it, which is unusual for alpaca. Next up is an Italian cashmere that Lisa hand-dyed a rich burnished gold and that forms a frame on either side of a silk/merino yarn that she hand-dyed a pallet of olive greens before handspinning it. These mirror image matching Kahuna Pussy Caps were a custom order for my buddy Richard's shaved head and they're made from the same two skeins of yarn - one of them its natural ivory color and the other hand-dyed black. A beautiful custom Pussy Cap for one of my longtime clients. Most of this big, luscious cap is crocheted from an Italian boucle` yarn in teal that's an ethereally soft blend of baby alpaca and wool. Accenting in white is a rare and highly-prized Royal Cashmere yarn that was custom spun for me by Lisa Souza and was also used in a baby cap for this client's grandaughter. Another custom cap for Richard and his oh-so-delicate shaved head. This understated Pussy Cap combines my signature Woody Blue color and my signature Trykster pattern and is made entirely from a thick and wonderfully soft blend of alpaca & wool from the Rowan yarnmakers of England. A great yarn that I've loved working with for several years now and which unfortunately has been discontinued. If you've been considering a custom Woody Blue Pussy Cap now's the time to act on it. The yarn that's most visible here is from Lisa Souza's Rare Treasures Collection. It's called Mesa and is a handspun, downy soft blend of angora fur and merino wool. The pallet of colors that Lisa chose for this yarn are a reflection of the colors of the Desert Southwest and they are both beautiful and subtle. I coupled this special yarn with a superfine Peruvian alpaca yarn in its natural black color for a luxuriously thick and sensuously soft Pussy Cap. The fit is perfect with a lot of length for wearing low to the eyes and below the ears. I love this cap - it looks great on and feels like a million bucks.

I took three different yarns for this cap and tied varying lengths of each of them end to end to form a single yarn and then crocheted it on a larger hook so that there'd be lots of breathing room in between the stitches. Perfect for year round comfort in any weather. First up is a handpainted, handspun blend of merino & cashmere from Lisa Souza in shades of coral, burnt orange and blue. Second is a soft merino boucle` from Italy in a rich apricot and finally a handspun blend of angora fur, alpaca & wool in pink, ivory and natural light tan. This is what Pussy Caps are all about for me - rich, sensuous yarns that are as beautiful to look at as they are warm and wonderful to wear. This particular cap combines three of Lisa Souza's masterful handspun yarns. In the brown stripes we have pure angora fur, handpainted in a colorway called Mahogany.
