I've had these two luxurious handspun yarns from Lisa Souza sitting here for awhile and wondering what would be the best way to use them since this is the last of them and I wanted something special. So I took both of the yarns and crocheted them as one and wow, what a magical and beautiful combination. One is an olive green angora fur yarn with some golden metallic tencel spun randomly into it.  The other is one of Lisa's handspun cashmere/merino blends that she dyed in the wool for some really nice bracken greens and browns with traces of pale blues. The rows of solid brown in between are crocheted from my signature Polar yarn from Rowan of England. The way the colors in this cap transition imperceptibly all the way to the top is amazing and the brown foundation allows you to really see and feel them as they go. A soft and easy fitting Pussy Cap with all the wonder of Lisa's masterful yarns for something really special.

Hover over the images for more views. Samoyed Sled Dog fur - so delightfully soft and furry that you just wanna hold it in your hands and snuggle it like it was a puppy. This is a very warm cap and it's big and roomy so it'll easily cover your ears and keep you well protected no matter how cold it is. One of the amazing things about this Samoyed yarn is that after a couple of wearings it starts to bloom and will eventually create a halo both on the inside and the outside of the cap. You can see a little bit of the bloom getting started at the bottom of the cap in the pictures. Coupled with the Samoyed yarn is a natural white superfine alpaca that is the perfect companion in both softness and color. For the band I doubled a stunning hand-dyed golden angora fur yarn and accented it with natural black baby alpaca that was handspun by Lisa Soua. A Mush Puppy Pussy Cap signature style exclusive.

Cap #11830  Sold
From the imaginarium of Lisa Souza come three of the most beautiful yarns I've ever worked with. The textured pale gold yarn is pure handspun cashmere that Lisa handyed in a colorway called Desert Sand. It is so buttery soft that you won't know whether to wear it on your head or hold it in your hands. Above it is another handspun cashmere beauty from Lisa in Deep Blue Sea. Accompanying both yarns throughout the entire cap is an exquisite thread of baby alpaca and silk that Lisa handpainted in a colorway called Mombasa. This is the luxury we all dream of in clothing but rarely find. This is the spinning and coloring of a master. And this is the warmth, beauty and durability that Pussy Caps are known for. A generous fit with lots of length to keep your ears toasty warm on the coldest days of winter. The best of the best.

Cap #11803  Sold
Two extraordinarily beautiful handspun yarns here from Lisa Souza. Both of them are blends of cashmere and ultrafine merino. For the body of the cap we have a fascinating pallet of teals, blues and brackish browns and accenting in an equally fascinating colorway we have Jurassic. With the yarns having  the same fiber content and a very similiar style of spinning the balance between them is perfect. The cap itself is somewhat lightweight but it's ability to protect and snuggle your head is all there. Lots of stretch so that it will easily fit anybody's head no matter the size. Gorgeous yarns, amazing softness and a long long lifespan for this exceptionally beautiful Pussy Cap.

Cap #11843  Sold
In the body of this Pussy Cap I've used two of Lisa Souza's beautiful yarns. The thicker, chunkier one is a handspun and hand-dyed superfine merino that's soft and lightweight and colored to perfection in an earthy yellow and gold pallet. Accompanying it is a thin strand of pure cashmere that Lisa hand-dyed a deep shimmering gold. Accenting in the band, which can be worn up or down, is a downy soft brushed baby alpaca yarn from Italy. It also has the golden cashmere crocheted with it. The cashmere will bloom creating a soft halo throughout the cap, making it softer and more beautiful than it already is. The fit is easy but not sloppy and will fit pretty much anybody's head.

Cap #11852  Sold
A beautiful medley of four different yarns from Lisa Souza have gone into this subtle but wonderful Pussy Cap. In the body we have two yarns crocheted together as one - a natural tan handspun camel down and a handyed cashmere in a rustic wooden brown. Accenting in the band is a natural dark brown blend of yak down and baby alpaca. And nestled into that is Lisa's handspun and handyed cashmere/merino yarn called Jurassic. A comfortable fit with a classic beanie cap style, this is the kind of cap you'll reach for like an old pair of comfortable shoes. Simple, warm and easy.

The blue yarn is a soft alpaca from Sunrise Ranch in Kamas, Utah where my friend Deb McMurtrie keeps careful watch over her herd of alpacas and llamas. It was spun and dyed locally in Utah and went from Deb's hands to mine. The gorgeous natural silver angora fur was spun for me on Prince Edward Island in Canada and accompanies the blue alpaca throughout the cap. And finally in the band we have a luxurious handspun handyed cashmere from Lisa Souza in a pallet of deep sea blues. It's accented by a natural black baby alpaca yarn that was also handspun by Lisa. Big and roomy without being sloppy, the thick fabric here will stay looking good for a long long time. The angora fur will bloom and create a halo and downy downy softness will follow. Truly wonderful on.

Cap #11829  Sold
This is a big Pussy Cap with a huge turned up band for serious warmth on the coldest days of winter. With alpaca fibers from Deb McMurtrie 's Sunrise Ranch Alpacas in Kamas, Utah in addition to baby alpaca from Peru` and silk from China this cap is really much more than just a beanie. It's huge, it's soft and it's going to keep you toasty warm with a generous 4" turned up band that adds a ton of extra protection around the ears and forehead. Got lots of hair? A big head? This is your new winter cap.

Cap #11862  Sold
Three beautiful yarns all crocheted as one - hover over the pictures with your mouse to see more details. First we have a rare Canadian yarn spun from equal parts qiviut and merino in their natural pale tan colors. Second up is a strand of pure Bombyx silk from Lisa Souza that she hand-dyed in a shimmering gold. And finally a thin strand of merino wool from Germany that moves across a spectrum of teals, blues, burnt orange and brown. After a few wearings the qiviut will begin to bloom and create a downy soft halo both inside and outside the cap. This luxurious Pussy Cap is soft and supple but built to last. A generous fit for anybody's head.

Cap #11812-3
The stuff that dreams are made of: handspun and hand-dyed baby alpaca from Lisa Souza topped off with a stunning coupling of cashmere and kid mohair in purple. Pure luxury and unparalleled warmth in this luscious Pussy Cap for the new Fall & Winter Season 2011-12.  As with all of my caps, this one was crocheted by me by hand the old fashioned way with a hook and a skein or two of yarn. It is one of a kind and will never be duplicated.

Cap #11860  Sold
This is one of those Pussy Caps that makes people smile when they hold it in their hands. Lots of cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca have combined for a downy softness and feeling of luxury that's hard to beat. The colorful yarn you see here is a handpainted yarn from Lisa Oldt Souza in a colorway she calls Mardi Gras and it's blended from baby alpaca and silk. A natural ivory colored blend of cashmere and angora fur are creating the ethereal softness and the halo that are so smile-inducing here. And finally, another small thread of handpainted cashmere from Lisa in a beautiful indigo blue. Stunning cap full of softness, warmth and smiles. Traditional beanie cap style with lots of length for covering the ears and lots of stretch for anyone's head.

I commissioned Sandy Ryan in Wisconsin to spin this yarn for me using fibers from the animals on her farm. She rescues animals from other farms in the state and gives the animals a good home and then spins the fibers shorn from them in the spring. Here we have the wool from two or three different sheep as well as fibers from a goat, an alpaca and a llama all in their natural colors. The result is one of the most handsome handspun yarns I've ever worked with. It's not soft enough to be worn next to the skin so I crocheted an inner lining of very soft Italian merino that will be perfect for even the most sensitive skin. The band is intended to be worn up so that the lining will stay next to the skin. The fit is snug but not tight and the look overall is amazing. A real treat at a really great price.

Cap #11837  Sold
There are three naturally colored alpaca yarns in this cap and they came from Deb McMurtrie's herd of alpacas in Kamas, Utah near Park City. After Deb sheared her alpacas in the spring she sent the fibers off to a local mill in Utah to be spun into these amazing yarns. They're soft and full of loft and the feel of the fabric is something truly special. The cap is fully reversible and can be worn with the band turned up or down. The Four Corners Pussy Cap is one of my signature styles and has proven to be wildly popular because they're so comfortable and look so cool on. A little more money for a lot more cap makes the Four Corners a true bargain. Did I mention soft? And warm? And totally cool on?

11890-Sold
The basis for this gorgeous cap is a Pussy Cap original yarn from Canada that's blended from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. It's dyed a rich maroonish purple and is accompanied in the first part of the cap by a tiny strand of rayon and silk yarn that has little square tags of color appearing randomly along its length. In the top of the cap the companion yarn is one of Lisa Oldt Souza's handpainted beauties that's blended from baby alpaca and silk in a colorway called Mardi Gras. Stunning! This Pussy Cap is generously sized so it'll work for anybody's head no matter how much hair is there. And hey, the softness here is off the charts.

11876  Sold
This simple but wonderful Four Corners Pussy Cap boasts a variety of yarns that include a lot of alpaca as well as brushed cashmere, angora fur, silk and merino. Most of them are in their natural light tan colors. The yarns are doubled but the fabric still remains soft and has a beautiful drape when the cap is worn with the band turned down so that the four corners top falls from the crown of the head. The Four Corners Pussy Caps look so cool on in addition to giving you all the warmth and protection you might need for the coldest winter days.

11889  Sold
The natural tan yarn you see here is handspun merino wool that the spinner added a lustrous thread of silk to that shows up in various shades of gold, copper and yellow. The effect is subtle and rich and changes from every direction you look at it. Coupled with it throughout is a very tiny thread of baby mohair. You can't see it very well in the picture but you can sure feel it. To insure extra softness and warmth around the forehead and ears I added a lining of soft black yarn that's spun from cashmere, merino and baby alpaca. Hover over the pictures to see how that works. This Pussy Cap has a snug yet comfortable fit with plenty of length to come down to the eyes and below the ears.

The thick/thin nature of the spinning gives an amazing amount of hills and valleys to the fabric as it's crocheted. The pale colored yarns you see in it are natural alpaca and the teal is a soft virgin wool. Accenting in the band and the four corners top are four strands of natural handspun alpaca yarn, all of them spun for me by Sandy Lewis in Wisconsin. This is the first new Four Corners Pussy Cap I've made in ages and it's a winner.  It fits a little differently than a traditional beanie as it flares at the opening instead of closing down tight around the forehead and ears. The strands of natural alpaca yarn that you see dangling from the top can be left the way they are or pulled back to the inside of the cap and out of sight. Soft, beautiful on and toasty warm - a signature Four Corners Pussy Cap.

Cap #11822  Sold
An alpaca named Haggis from Kamas, Utah supplied us with the fibers for the yarn in this cap that's been dyed a really nice light blue. The yarn is super soft and has a nice twist to it, making for a lot of texture and loft in the fabric. Accompanying it throughout the cap is a strand of colorful merino wool that was handpainted by Lisa Souza from Placerville, California. The cap is simple and has a classic beanie cap look and feel. But it's yarns make it something truly special. This one could easily go in my personal collection because I like it that much. I have too many caps though, so this one is all for you!

Cap #11868  Sold
Natural white superfine alpaca has joined Lisa Souza's handpainted wensleydale wool and her handpainted merino wool for the body of this cap. Yep, three strands of yarn crocheted together as one. Yum. The teal diagonal stripe and the matching trim at the top and bottom are out of a luxurious Italian baby alpaca boucle`. This is a thick, soft and very warm  Pussy Cap with a gathered top instead of the traditional fitted tops that I usually do. The colors are lively and the cap looks really great on. Perfect for slopes or lodge.

Cap #7502  Sold
Lots and lots of Peruvian alpaca yarns here in their natural white and light brown colors. In addition to the alpaca one of the strands of yarn was spun from wool and silk. I took three strands of yarn and crocheted them as one which gives this cap a luxurious thickness without stiffness. The fabric is soft and substantial and way more than enough warmth and protection for any kind of winter weather. A real beauty with a generous fit that will work great for anybody regardless of head size or hair. Finishing it off is a handcrafted elkhorn button that my twin brother made for me. It turns the band up just on the one side giving this cap a most distinctive style and flair.

Cap #11896  Sold
This simple headband can be worn folded in two as you see it here or opened up to cover more of the ears and the head. I've been wearing one of these myself later and find them to be really comfortable and versatile. For this one I chose a drak blue brushed baby alpaca from Italy with the kind of softness that feels like down in your hands. Accompanying it is a luscious silk and wool blend from the Noro yarnmakers of Japan. Simple, soft and versatile this Pussy Cap headband comes in at a fabulous price. Enjoy!

Cap #11841  Sold
I've been hanging onto the curly yarn in this cap for a long time. It's no longer made and I had it stashed away because I just didn't want to see the last of it go through my fingers. But here it is in a very simple but beautiful Pussy Cap. The yarn was spun in Italy in a boucle'` style, which means that the merino is spun around a silk thread and then pushed backwards on it to create a curly and highly textured effect. There are two colors in this soft and lightweight yarn - an olive green and a very subtle pond water blue. Joining them every inch of the way is Lisa Souza's handpainted Bombyx silk. The fit is easy and comfortable and the cap overall quite lightweight, so it'll be perfect for wearing long after the warmer winter caps have been put away. A true bargain at a hundred dollars. Enjoy!

Cap #11840  Sold
Nekkers start out like Pussy Caps but instead of finishing them at the top I leave them open so that you can slide them down over your head and onto your neck. It's like a scarf only it won't fall off. It's like a turtleneck without the rest of the sweater. It's like the coolest thing ever only better. For this stunner I crocheted two beautiful yarns together as one. The first is a Pussy Cap exclusive from Canada that blends equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca in a deep rich black. Its companion is a luscious handpainted yarn from Lisa Souza that's blended from baby alpaca and silk. All in all this is just the ultimate in a Nekker - downy soft, warm beyond warm and gorgeous on.

Nekker #11882  Sold
Ah yes, the kind of softness that makes us sigh. I crocheted natural silver angora fur from Canada with natural white superfine alpaca from Peru` for a fabric that is luxuriously soft and extraordinarily warm and durable. Alpaca is 8 times warmer than wool and angora fur is about 10 to 12 times warmer than wool. And here they've joined forces! Your head will never be cold with this Pussy Cap along for the ride. Accenting in the band is a beautiful maroon yarn that was custom spun for me in Canada from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. It's roomy, it's long, it's crazy soft and warm and it's beautiful on.

The multi-colored wool yarn is from South America and has been buttonspun, which is an ancient form of spinning yarn by hand.  The colors are bright and well-chosen and perfectly matched to each other in shade and tone. The maroon companion yarn here is a Pussy Cap exclusive from Canada and is blended from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. With just a couple of wearings it will start to bloom and create a downy soft halo both inside and outside of the cap. Roomy and long with plenty of warmth for the coldest days of winter, this Pussy Cap will be in the family for a long long time.

Cap #11828  Sold
This is a downy soft and very lightweight Pussy Cap crafted from cashmere, merino, angora fur and a little bit of natural black baby alpaca. I purposely chose smaller yarns to keep the cap lightweight so that it could be worn comfortably any time of the year. It will still keep you warm in winter but won't have to be put away in spring. This cap will fit close to the head without squeezing it and there's plenty of length to come down to the eyes in front and below the ears.

Cap #11897  Sold
Every once in awhile I pull out my stash of recycled sari silk and do up one of these crazy fun beanies. They look so cool on and breathe enough that you can wear them pretty much year round in a lot of places. The fit is nice - it might loosen a little but won't get big and stretched out (like some silks do) because of all the texture in the yarn. Everyone who's purchased one of these sari silk caps from me has loved them. They're quite a bit different from the beanie caps I usually make but they're fun and funky and of course a very functional piece of clothing when everything else is said and done.

Cap #11871 Sold
The bulk of the yarn in this Pussy cap is a lusciously soft blend of red merino with a little bit of microfiber in it. The grey handpainted yarn you see throughout is Koigu merino and in addition to being soft it's durable and beautifully spiraled so it lends a lot of texture to the look. This is a big, warm soft and handsomely styled cap with a very generous fit and lots of stretch. Enjoy!

11877-Sold
I dyed the ivory hemp & merino yarn here in coffee - my first attempt at getting a yarn wet. :-) The color is so beautiful and works perfectly with the baby alpaca and silk blend that was hand dyed by the Master, Lisa Souza. Accenting is a combination of yarns in silk, mohair, and cashmere. Easy fit with plenty of stretch for any size head.

#11859 -Sold
Ah yes, Lisa Souza's handpainted silk shimmering in amongst the natural brown handspun alpaca makes for a cap that's both rustic and elegant at the same time. The addition of a highly textured handspun yarn in the band makes for a strong counterpoint to the smaller smoother yarns that surround it. A bigger cap with a generous fit this Pussy Cap would be excellent for someone with a lot of hair or a larger head. It looks stunning on and has plenty of length to come right down to the eyebrows and below the ears.

#11842-Sold
I combined a number of different yarns here for colorful symphony in pinks, purples, periwinkle and pale blue. They are blended from baby alpaca, merino and silk for softness, warmth and lots of protection from the winter cold. The fit is easy with plenty of stretch for anybody's head and lots of length for covering your forehead and ears. The Koigu merino yarn I used in this cap has a lot of memory and strength so this cap will last a long long time and keep you warm and beautiful doing it.

11899-Sold
The body of this Pussy Cap boasts three different yarns that I crocheted together as if they were one. First is a luscious natural whilte alpaca from Peru`. Next is a natural grey angora fur from Canada. And finally a tiny thread of blue merino wool that I found in an antique shop in Arizona.  The feel of this fabric in hand is luxurious and buttery soft. And there's only one yarn that could hold it's own as an accent against these three and that's Lisa Souza's handspun, handpainted cashmere in deep steely blues. This one is all about the yarns - extraordinary warmth and protection in a traditional fitting beanie cap that has a lot of length to cover the ears and fit low on the forehead. A real beauty.

11833-Sold
Three wonderful natural animal fibers make up the yarns in this Pussy Cap. The grey yarn is a blend of cashmere and lambswool and its companion is the world famous Koigu Merino yarn from Canada that's been handpainted by mother/daughter fiber artists Maia and Taie Landra of Ontario. The Koigu yarns gives this cap a tremendous amount of elasticity and durability while still being soft enough to wear next to the skin. The cashmere and lambswool of course lend legendary softness for a cap that will likely be wearable by anybody no matter how sensitive the skin. The fit is traditional beanie cap wonderful with plenty of length to come down to the eyes and below the ears.

Cap #11874  Sold
As with most of my Pussy Caps this year I've crochteted two yarns together here as if they were one. The luxurious strand of silk that moves throughout the entire cap was handpainted by Lisa Souza. Joining it at the bottom is a band of millspun angora fur & merino from South America. This assures downy softness and toasty warmth next to the forehead and ears. Meeting the silk and angora fur up a couple of inches is a soft soft strand of ultrafine merino that was handspun and handyed by Lisa Souza. There is a lot of substance to this cap and the yarns have a lot of life naturally built into them.  A traditional beanie cap fit with plenty of stretch for anybody's head.

Cap #11839 Sold
An exciting new addition to the Pussy Cap Collection is this line of hats that use fur that I've upcycled from the collars of vintage coats. At the heart of this winter beauty is a Pussy Cap that I crocheted from natural colored cashmere, alpaca and merino. I hand sewed the Silver Fox fur directly onto the cap and where the fur overlaps I've used a hand carved wooden whale from Iceland to fasten it in place. These fur hats are stunning on and perfect for any winter climate where your head absolutely must stay warm and keep you looking fabulous while doing it.

An exciting new addition to the Pussy Cap Collection is this line of hats that use fur that I've upcycled from the collars of vintage coats. At the heart of this winter beauty is a Pussy Cap that I crocheted from natural Peruvian alpaca yarns for warmth, softness and durability. I hand sewed the Mink fur directly onto the cap and left an opening that gives the cap a most distinctive Paris circa 1920s kind of a look. These fur hats are stunning on and perfect for any winter climate where your head absolutely must stay warm and keep you looking fabulous while doing it.

FPC #2  $180.00  Sold
This is the last of this wonderful alpaca/wool yarn from England in my signature Woody Blue. It's accented with a big fat alpaca yarn from Peru` for an old-fashioned beanie cap that'll last forever and look good doing it. Lots of softness and warmth for next to the skin comfort. A true classic from my collection of one-of-a-kind luxury beanie caps.

Cap #11857-Sold
This handsome Four Corners Pussy Cap boasts three beautiful yarns, the first of which is a Peruvian superfine alpaca tweed in natural shades of brown and grey. Accompanying it throughout the cap is a soft Italian merino boucle`in a muted olive grey. Trimming the band and the four corners top is a natural jet black alpaca yarn from Sunrise Ranch Alpacas in Kamas, Utah. The fit is amazing with plenty of stretch for anybody's head. The softness will make you smile and the warmth is everything you'll need for the coldest days of winter. Wear it with the band up as shown or wear the band down and enjoy a really nice drape at the crown. Either way it's beautiful on.

Cap #12904 - Sold
The buttery softness of this Pussy Cap is a result of a fabulous natural white cashmere from Australia that is one of the softest millspun cashmeres I've ever worked with. Joining it are yak down, silk and a little bit of angora fur for an amazingly soft and silky fabric that will make you smile wide. I trimmed this cap with a delicate Japanese silk ribbon yarn in a warm taupe. The fit is simple and loose and you can wear it with a turned up band or long with a slight drape at the crown. Sometimes the look of luxury is subtle but what you feel in your hands and on your head in this case clearly sets a standard for softness that can only be found in a Pussy Cap.

Cap #11900-2a  Sold
Nekkers start out like Pussy Caps but instead of finishing them at the top I leave them open so that you can slide them down over your head and onto your neck. It's like a scarf only it won't fall off. It's like a turtleneck without the rest of the sweater. It's like the coolest thing ever only better. As you can see in the pictures there's lots of ways you can wear your Nekker. This particular Nekker is pure Mongollian cashmere that was handpainted by Lisa Souza in a colorway called Emerald City. The reference to gemstone is perfect because this yarn has a beautiful lustrous quality to it that enhances the colors and gives them an almost translucent sheen. You just can't go wrong with cashmere and you just can't go wrong with a Nekker made from it.

Cap #11861-2a  Sold
Total fabulosity for the last few days of fall and the first early nips of winter, this stunningly colored Pussy Cap has been crafted from a very soft wool that was lightly bound by a tiny thread of merino. Alternating rows are a thread of rayon and silk in a lot of luscious complimentary colors. Lots of breathing room here with the open spaces between rows and a ton of stretch for any size head. Tons of fun in a perfect year round Pussy Cap.

This Pussy Cap has a luxurious buttery softness that's imbued by the lacey threads of cashmere and angora fur that are its foundation. Accompanying them is a strand of handpainted cashmere from Lisa Oldt Souza in a soft woody brown and a natural ivory yarn from Canada that's blended from yak down, cashmere and silk.

Cap 11875  Sold
Oh yeh, big and thick and warm and looking for all the world like it came from a yak herder in the circumpolar regions of our planet! The most visible yarn in the cap is from Sandy Ryan's farm in Wisconsin where her animals all donate freely to the spinning cause. She took one yarn and dyed it a gorgeous Chinese red and the other a stunning teal. And then she spun those two yarns together as one. Accompanying that handspun yarn throughout the cap is my Pussy Cap original yarn that's blended from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. Yum! On the inside of the cap (hover over the image to see it) I've created a lining for next to the skin of cashmere, merino and baby alpaca yarns. The huge three inch turned up band gives you so much added warmth and protection that you could pretty much face the coldest day of the year without a problem. It's big and warm and soft and amazing on. The best of the best from your local beaniecapguy.
