To get an idea of just how beautiful this Pussy Cap is on, check out the picture of Becky modeling it below and then return to the description.  OK, now that you've seen what it looks like on, here's what I crafted it from: The first yarn is beautiful superfine alpaca tweed in alpaca's natural brown, tan and black colors. Accompanying it throughout the cap is a handpainted yarn from Lisa Souza that's blended from baby alpaca and silk. The pairing really worked here for a luscious pallet of fall and winter colors that will look good on just about anybody. The yarns are soft, the fit is comfortable and because of the gathered top there's plenty of room up there for hair if that's where you want to stash it. Band turned up or left down for a drape in the crown, this is a really nice Pussy Cap any way you slice it.

Cap #9801  Sold
The fabulously textured yarn you're seeing here was custom spun for me by Sandy Ryan in Wisconsin using fibers from the rescued animals on her ranch. There is naturally colored alpaca, llama and wool that come and go randomly throughout the length of the yarn. Just to make sure that it was wearable with ease next to the skin I crocheted a cashmere lining for the part of the cap on the inside that will be next to the ears and forehead. This is the kind of excellence in handspun yarn that keeps me constantly intrigued and excited with the world of fiber arts. It's all about the yarns. A big cap with a huge band and a fabulously comfortable fit, this is really more of a hat than a beanie. But what the heck, let's just call it a Pussy Cap anyway! By the way, it's stunning on. Oh yeh.

Cap #9708  Sold
It's very simple: this is a beautiful Italian cashmere that  Lisa Souza handpainted in a richly shaded colorway called Sedona. The yarn is thick but not heavy and with each wearing it will become softer and more luxurious. Such is the nature of cashmere. And hey, it even enjoys a good handwashing now and then. The simplicity of the style and the richness of the colors combine with the cashmere for a very special Pussy Cap that has an easy traditional fit with plenty of length to be worn low to the eyebrows and below the ears.

Cap #11807  Sold
I chose two very different yarns for this Pussy Cap and was surprised at how beautifully they worked together. What you see mostly is the colorful German merino yarn but what you're going to feel is the smoky black yarn from Canada that's blended from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. The angora fur and the cashmere will bloom a little creating a downy soft halo both on the inside and the outside of the cap.  While it's light to the touch the angora fur and baby alpaca guarantee all the warmth you'll ever need for winter wearing. Simple, colorful, warm, soft and beautiful on. What more could you ask for!!

Hover over the images for more detailed views.  I bought this whimsical yarn because it was just too cool to leave behind. It proved to be a little too bumpy for wearing next to the skin of the forehead and ears so I solved the problem by crocheting a section of the cap in a thick baby alpaca yarn from Peru` - and that's what is worn next to the skin here. The whimsical boucle` style yarn is made from a blend of lots of different fibers that includes merino, silk, mohair and rayon. I coupled it with a wonderful yarn from Japan that's blended from wool, silk and mohair. So this Pussy Cap isn't just fun to look at and wear but it's warm, durable and highly protective. It's a big big cap with lots of room at the top if you have a lot of hair you want to pile up ontop of your head. The turned up band is meant to stay turned up so that the baby alpaca will be next to your skin.

Cap #11824  Sold
One of the most beautiful caps I have ever made, this signature style Wave Pussy Cap is crocheted from two magnificent yarns that were handspun by Lisa Souza. Hover over the images with your mouse to see more details. The first yarn is natural brown yak down that Lisa custom spun for me in a beautifully textured style that allows us to enjoy all of the natural wonder of yak. It's soft and warm and has one of the most unique hands of any of the yarns I use. Joining it for the wave is a blend of cashmere and merino that Lisa hand-dyed in a gorgeous pallet of deep-sea blues. This is a big cap with a gathered top so if you have lots of hair there's room up there to hide it all away. And even if you have no hair it's still just as amazing on because of the unique and flattering shape. I would put this cap in my personal collection in a heartbeat but I really do want somebody to own it and enjoy it.

Cap #11815  Sold
Mostly what we have going on here is Peruvian alpaca with a little bit of baby merino from Uruguay thrown in for fun and for color. There are two strands of the alpaca - one is baby alpaca blended with silk and hand-dyed a lustrous gold by Lisa Souza. The other strand is pure superfine alpaca, also hand-dyed by Lisa in a very subtle muted olive/gold. Baby merino in a riot of handpainted colors nestles into the mix while a pair of red merino wool yarns from Spain and Uruguay give us a bold accent lifting well above the cap in the band. Less yellow than what you're seeing in this picture, this Pussy Cap has a wonderful fit with lots of length for coming down to the eyebrows and below the ears. Soft, warm, durable and wonderful on.

Cap #8619  Sold
In the body of the cap are three yarns crocheted together as one: a strand of natural white Samoyed fur yarn from Canada, a strand of natural brown & white tweed Peruvian alpaca and a strand of pure Bombyx silk that was hand-dyed a shimmering pink by Lisa Souza. Wow wow wow wow wow. Accenting in the raised band is a beautiful red yarn blended from Peruvian baby alpaca & silk that I coupled with a Peruvian alpaca tweed in natural black, brown and tan. Lots of amazing yarns went into this big Pussy Cap. The fit is most generous - definitely lots of room for someone with a large head or lots and lots of hair and hey, it might even work for someone with dreads. The fabric is extraordinarily soft and velvety and yet a lot tougher than it looks or feels. You will smile...

Cap #8598  Sold
This is one of my Koigu Pussy Caps, named for the three strands of handpainted Koigu Merino yarn from Canada that go into it. A melange of purples, pinks and lavenders with hints of blues and greens are accented by a band of rose-colored kid mohair & lambswool and a dark aubergine lambswool. Fits snug to the head but isn't tight. Thick, squishy, soft, warm, durable and beautiful on.

Cap #7529  Sold
Four color variations here of the same wonderful yarn that's an equal blend of cashmere and silk. I saw this yarn sitting in my favorite yarn shop in Salt Lake City and even though it was expensive and I didn't have much cash on hand at the time, I knew I had to have it. Beautifully spun and dyed in purple, green, gold and red, this yarn feels amazing and has some real substance to it as well as all the softness you could ever need or want on your head. Finished in my signature Four Corners style but with a snugger fit, it can be worn in a lot of different ways and look great no matter what you do with it.

Cap #7538 Sold
This is one of my signature Wave Caps - a bold combination of two beautiful yarns that share a heart of red. The foundation of the cap is crocheted from a very soft blend of alpaca & wool from England in Chinese red. Forming the waves and finishing off the cap is a handcrafted Uruguayan wool that's been kettle-dyed in a rich pallet of reds, burnt oranges, golds and dark olive greens. There's lots and lots of length here for wearing low on the forehead and below the ears. At the same time this beanie has a snug fit so it's not likely to go flying off when you're boarding, skiing or hiking in the Himalayas.

Handmade Crocheted Hats and Beanies from Pussy Cap
Handmade Crocheted Hats and Beanies from Pussy Cap
This Pussy Cap has two beautiful yarns in their natural colors that were handspun by Kristen Worthington of Utah. The tan yarn is pure, downy soft baby camel down and the white yarn that alternates with it is a wonderfully soft blend of angora fur, alpaca and wool. Simple, soft and warm this is a beanie that will fit close to the head without squeezing it and will easily come down to below the ears. Feels and looks great on.

Cap #319  Sold
This Four Corners Pussy Caps is crocheted from a colorful Italian merino wool in peaches, olive greens and creamy whites that's been joined by a brushed red merino wool that I picked up in Spain a couple of years ago. The cap is big and would comfortably fit anybody's head while at the same time being snug enough that it won't fall off. The four inch turned up band gives extra warmth and protection around the forehead and ears. A beautiful, colorful and versatile Pussy Cap.

Cap #7505  Sold
Echoing the colors of water, sky & clouds, this light as a feather Pussy Cap is mostly angora fur with a tiny bit of wool spun into both yarns. From Peru` comes a pale blue millspun yarn that alternates with a domestc handpainted yarn in shades of teal, blue, olive, tan and white. Two beautiful yarns that are perfectly matched in terms of size, softness and color, making it almost impossible to tell where one leaves off and the other begins. This cap will keep your head toasty warm but allow it to breathe at the same time because of the spaces in between the stitches. Fit will be close to the head but because of the loose crochet won't feel tight. Outrageously soft and light and really nice on.

Cap #274  Sold
There are some really wonderful colors going on here in this signature Koigu Pussy Cap. Koigu is one of the world's nicest merino wools that was originally designed for sock yarn but that's found it's way into a million other practical uses, like my beanie caps. Mother & daughter team Maie & Taiu Landra from Ontario, Canada handpaint this gorgeous millspun merino wool and their use of color is just really something else. I accented the cap with a band of their handpainted Koigu in brown and then accented again with a stunning rayon/silk ribbon yarn from Wales that's also been handpainted. The resulting Pussy Cap is a really nice addition to the collection and one that I'm really thrilled with.

Cap #7509  Sold
The rose colored yarn in the body of this cap is a blend of baby alpaca and silk. Lisa Souza took the yarn and hand-dyed it into this subtle but wonderfully shaded pallet of rose. I coupled it with another one of Lisa's hand-dyed yarns that's a dark smoky grey and is blended from kid mohair and silk. It's an unusual pairing of yarns but it works and renders a fabric for this Pussy Cap that's soft, supple and substantial. The kicker here though is this beautifully colored yarn that's handcrafted from kid mohair locks that stand out way above the cap and give it its whimsical playful style. A comfortable easy fit in a classic beanie style that will fit mid-ear for most people.

Cap #9687  Sold
Crazy crazy fun. A fully reversible Pussy Cap that's wild on one side and wilder on the other!  The basis for the cap is an old favorite of mine from England that's spun from alpaca and wool; super soft and durable and it ages nicely. The other yarns are a mix of all kinds of things with most of them being man-made fibers. Hover over the images to see the alternate look on the other side. Traditional fit but not a traditional look, that's for sure. Inspite of it being ever so slightly conventional it's still going to do the job it was designed to do, which is keep you warm and comfortable on colder days.

Cap #11835  Sold
Lisa Souza handspun this sumptous natural ivory yarn from cashmere and merino fibers and called it Mushroom. It's ultra thick and soft and warm and I love it in my Pussy Caps. Alternating with the mushroom is a coupling of South American alpaca, wool and mohair in rich shades of orange, rust and yellow. A thick, easy fitting Pussy Cap with a ton of texture, warmth, softness and durability.

Cap #6418  Sold
Nice greens here in the spring-inspired Pussy Cap. For the body I combined a downy-soft brushed baby alpaca yarn in a pale lime green with a super soft alpaca yarn in a little darker lime. The effect is subtle but really nice. Accenting in the band are two stripes of an Italian boucle` yarn that was blended from merino wool and silk. This is a medium sized classic style beanie with plenty of length for covering up your eyes and forehead. Soft, warm, comfortable and really nice on.

Cap #8640  Sold
There are three majorly wonderful yarns at play here and you can see more detailed views of them by rolling your cursor over the images. I crocheted the three yarns together as one and the result is a Pussy Cap that's thick and cushy with tons of softness and warmth. And hey, those colors are pretty amazing too. The natural colored light grey yarn you're seeing is a luscious blend from Canada that was spun from the ever increasingly rare qiviut as well as alpaca and merino. Its companions for this cap are a hand-dyed baby merino wool from Uruguay and a naturally colored alpaca tweed from Peru`. This classic beanie cap has a perfect fit with lots of stretch and memory for anybody's head no matter how big or small. Completely unique and a true one-of-a-kind gem from the guy who loves his yarns and his beanies.

Cap #8613  Sold
Hover over the images for more detailed views. One of the most luxurious and beautiful Pussy Caps I've ever made. This is Lisa Souza's handspun handpainted cashmere. Crocheted along with it are two tiny threads of millspun cashmere and the result is something really special. No matter how exotic and wonderful other fibers are there is simply nothing on earth as wonderful against the skin as cashmere. Accenting in the border is a luxurious merino ribbon yarn from Wales that's been handpainted in a rich pallet of muted Renaissance colors. The two yarns together are a perfect match. There aren't enough accolades in my lexicon for this cashmere beauty that will fit comfortably on anybody's head no matter how big or small. The best of the best; not just an indulgence but an investment in top drawer wearable art.

Cap #11824  Sold
From the imaginarium of fiber artist Lisa Souza comes this new and oh so stunning baby alpaca yarn. The fibers were dyed in the wool, which means that they were dyed before being spun. From there Lisa pulled from the various clouds of colored fibers to spin this masterpiece into a colorway called Plumdinger. The yarn is thick in some places and thin in others with everything in between, which creates the amazing textures you're seeing here. Thick, luxuriously soft and very very warm, this Pussy Cap is as practical and protective as it is beautiful. A classic beanie cap fit with plenty of room for anyone's head no matter the size. Cap #11836  Sold
Nekkers are one of the most versatile offerings in my collection these days. They can be worn as a cap in several different ways or pulled down over the head onto the neck and worn as a scarf, a cowel or turtleneck under your jacket. Everyone who owns one loves them, including me. I crocheted this particular Nekker using 100% pure Peruvian baby alpaca so it's plenty soft to be worn up against the neck and under the chin. This one is a little smaller in diameter so it will be more like a turtleneck than a cowel and when worn on the head will have a nice snug fit for most people. See the pictures above and below for ideas as to how the Nekker can be worn.

Cap #11820  Sold
Don't be fooled by the simplicity here - this is the good stuff! A natural tan yarn from Canada blends the rare and exotic Qiviut with merino wool for an astonishing amount of softness and warmth. A tiny thread of baby mohair and silk accompanies it throughout for a subtle golden shimmer that's as soft as it is beautiful. With each wearing the qiviut will bloom a little more creating even more of a halo on the cap that's what's already there. This cap is very lightweight but because of the qiviut will give you crazy amounts of warmth. I kept this one simple so that you can really enjoy the yarns. An easy and traditional beanie cap fit with plenty of length to cover the ears and lots of stretch for any size head.

Cap #11817  Sold
For many years this yarn has been one of my favorites and a staple in my collections. It's no longer being made however so I'm just about to the end of my stash of it. Both the red and the tan yarns are blended from alpaca and merino and were millspun in England. It's a gorgeous yarn with a silky smoothness to it that's a pleasure to crochet and wonderful for wearing next to the skin. Throughout I have coupled these yarns with a Koigu merino wool yarn that's world famous for its extraordinary softness, strength, elasticity and durability. It was hand-dyed by mother daughter team Maie & Taiu Landra of Ontario, Canada. This Pussy Cap has a traditional style and will retain its shape nicely over the years.  Substantial and thick and very handsome on.

The yarns? Wow. One is pure baby alpaca and the other is a blend of baby alpaca and silk. Both were hand-dyed by Lisa Souza and the colors when seen in hand are absolutely beautiful. One of the wonderful things about this Pussy Cap is the way the colors swirl their way to the top of the gather. Yarns don't always do this so nicely, so when they do it's something special. This is the nicest I've ever seen it work, which of course made it a temptation to want to keep it. But here it is, a soft, warm and beautiful Pussy Cap for your winter warmth and comfort.

Cap #9807-Sold
Baby alpaca through and through - buttery soft and very very warm. Comfortable fit with plenty of length to keep your ears warm all winter long. Luscious, luxurious and beautiful on. The accents are crocheted directly into the fabric and are also baby and superfine alpaca.

Cap #6445-Sold
Just in time for spring (at least in some parts of the country) is this colorful Pussy Cap that combines a lime green brushed baby alpaca from Peru` with a beautiful hand-dyed wool yarn from South America that covers a broad pallet of rich colors. A classic beanie cap style with a perfect glove-comfortable fit and enough length to come down to your eyebrows and the bottoms of your ears. The brushed baby alpaca insures downy softness next to your skin and a lot of natural warmth and protection.

Cap #8610-Sold
Hover over the images for more detailed views.  Lots and lots of rich purples, pinks and hints of gold and green. The squiggly yarn you see in the picture is a rare south American buttonspun yarn in soft merino wool. Coupled with it throughout the cap are various shades of angora fur yarn and at the top the addition of a deep deep purple mohair and silk yarn. Angora fur is about 10 times warmer than wool so that is a serious winter cap. A big roomy fit and lots of room if you have hair you want to tuck up under there. Really lovely on.

Cap #11821-Sold
Nekkers are one of the most versatile offerings in my collection these days. They can be worn as a cap in several different ways or pulled down over the head onto the neck and worn as a scarf, a cowel or turtleneck under your jacket. Everyone who owns one loves them, including me. I crocheted this particular Nekker using two yarns together as one. A Pussy Cap exclusive, the smoky black yarn is a blend of equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca and it is absolutely indulgently soft and wonderful next to the skin. Joining it is a stunning blend of baby alpaca and silk that Lisa Souza handpainted in shimmerings shades of gold. This one is a little smaller in diameter so it will be more like a turtleneck than a cowel and when worn on the head will have a nice snug fit for most people.

Nekker #11823  Sold
Angora fur, silk & mohair, racoon fur, cashmere and samoyed sled dog fur. How's that for an extraordinary combination of exotic natural animal fibers! This is one of those you have to feel to believe. The body of the cap is a blending of two yarns - natural silver angora fur from Canada + a silk & mohair yarn from New Zealand that was hand-dyed by Lisa Souza in a stunning dark steeled bronze. With each wearing the angora fur will bloom a little more creating an ethereal halo of downy softness both on the inside and the outside of the cap. Accenting in the band is a natural tan handspun yarn that was blended from racoom fur and cashmere. The white accents are my signature Canadian yarn that was spun from Samoyed Sled Dog fur. Stunning softness with more warmth than you'll ever know what to do with, this is a gem of a Pussy Cap that will only grow more beautiful with each wearing. Generously sized for anybody's head that needs serious warmth.

Cap #11811  Sold
For this frosted silvery Pussy Cap I crocheted natural silver angora fur from Canada with natural white superfine alpaca from Peru` for a fabric that is luxuriously soft and extraordinarily warm and durable. Alpaca is 8 times warmer than wool and angora fur is about 10 to 12 times warmer than wool. And here they've joined forces to keep your head toasty warm! For the turned up band I used only the natural angora fur coupled with a delicate rayon yarn in pale silvers and blues. The angora fur will bloom with each wearing creating a an ethereal halo that will somewhat subdue its companion yarn and make the cap even more beautiful than it already is. A snug but not tight fit for this natural colored beauty.

Cap #11809  Sold
One of Lisa Souza's visual masterpieces is this colorway called Mardi Gras. Here she presents it in a lusciously soft yarn that's a blend of baby alpaca and silk. Yum. Accompanying it throughout the cap is a Pussy Cap custom yarn in deep maroon and black that's blended from equal parts cashmere, angora fur and baby alpaca. Double yum. The big folded band can be worn down as well which gives a really nice drape at the crown, which is one of my favorite ways to wear my caps that are in this style. The cashmere and angora fur will bloom which will give this Pussy cap even more softness and beauty with each wearing. A real stunner both in color and softness.

Cap #11855  Sold
The Noro yarnmakers of Japan are famous for their gorgeous colorways and this Four Corners Pussy Cap is a good example of how and why. The yarn is a blend of wool, raw silk, mohair and angora fur and is accented by a beautiful silky black boucle` yarn from Italy. Hover over the images to see more detailed views of it. I lined the part of the cap that's worn next to the forehead and ears with a softer merino wool for greater comfort. As my Four Corners caps go this one is a slightly smaller in size but has a ton of stretch so will fit anyones head nicely.  The tails on the black yarn can be left as is or trimmed back - looks kind cool with the tails though.  Great price for a warm, comfortable, colorful and durable Pussy Cap!

Cap #11847  Sold
At first glance the simplicity here can be misleading. I took a strand of the finest Australian cashmere and a strand of the finest Australian baby merino and crocheted them together as one. The buttery softness has to be felt and worn to be appreciated for how truly luxurious it is. The elk horn button was handcrafted by my twin brother and holds the edge of the cap up for a wonderful and whimsical brimmed look. This special Pussy Cap is a little smaller intended for someone with a regular to small head and/or hair that lays close to the head.

Cap #11832  Sold
Where oh where to begin? First hover over the images to see some closer details. Nice, eh? In the band I pulled three yarns as if they were one: Lisa Souza's handspun handpainted Wild Things angora fur sits on the throne. Alongside HRH is a stunning blue alpaca yarn from Deb McMurtry at Sunrise Ranch in Utah. And finally a  whimsical viscose and silk yarn that has little feathery tags that you can see in the pictures better than I can describe them. Inside the cap I crocheted just the blue alpaca with a companion blue merino for crazy wonderful softness next to the forehead and ears. And then more of the same yarns from the band to finish things off ontop. It's a big Pussy Cap but not a sloppy one. And it's thick and warm and will guarantee you all the warmth you could ever need on your head. Such a wonderful feeling on. And wow, the show this Pussy Cap puts on!

Cap #11834  Sold
Lisa Souza provided me with all of the yarns in this cap and they really are wonderful together. For the body I've chosen her handspun baby camel down and coupled it with her hand-dyed golden cashmere. The visual effect is quite subtle while  the luxurious feel of this combination is anything but. As an accent I chose Lisa's handspun cashmere/silk blend that she dyed in these desert sand colors. For the trim I used that same yarn but added a delicate strand of Lisa's handspun baby alpaca yarn from a cria named L'il Bit'. All of the yarns in this Pussy Cap will bloom, filling in most of the spaces in the crocheting. The fit is easy and comfortable and the cap overall is lightweight but still warm and protective. Something very special and unique from a couple of artisans who really love their work.

Cap #11848  Sold
I've used several yarns for this downy soft Pussy Cap but the most significant of them all is the natural tan yarn which is a stunning blend of Qiviut and merino from Canada. Harvested from the Arctic Musk Ox, Qiviut is 10 to 12 times warmer than wool and infinitely softer. The blending with merino gives it strength and elasticity for tremendous durability. Joining it is a tiny thread of baby merino from South America hand-dyed in various shades of brown, gold, olive and rust. At the top it becomes a strand of Lisa's handyed cashmere. For the band I've used Lisa's handspun yak/baby alpaca yarn in its natural brown and a beautiful golden angora fur yarn for the baby whale accents.  This Pussy Cap is extremely lightweight and soft - kind of like wearing a cloud on your head! It has a lot of stretch and will fit any sized head comfortably. For someone who needs extra softness on their head, this is a perfect choice.

Cap #11853  Sold
Even though red is a really tough color for digital to work with, I can guarantee you this is one of the nicest reds in a yarn that I've ever found. It's a blend of baby alpaca and silk from Peru`and has a buttery softness that'll wow you from the moment you first lay hands on it. Accenting is a sensational natural grey & white angora fur yarn that was handspun by Lisa Souza. The shifting shades of this angora fur are subtle but make for a truly beautiful effect as they move imperceptibly from one to the other across the length of the cap. A classic beanie cap fit and style, this is a beauty in every sense of the word. Kudos to the person who snatches it up because you're getting something really special.
