This is a big furry Pussy Cap that's made from a coupling of two wonderfully soft, lightweight yarns - a strand of white silky mohair into which is nestled a strand of handpainted yarn that's a blend of silk, cotton and rayon. The colors have a lot more of a pastel look to them than my camera captured and the furriness of the mohair will also be more evident when you're holding it in your hands. This is a very big Pussy Cap that looks stunning on and would be especially great for someone with a lot of hair.

One of my favorite Italian millspun yarns is this beautiful grey virgin wool that has bursts of color appearing randomly throughout the length of the yarn. Since wool can be a problem for some people I added a band of a really soft merino & cashmere yarn to this cap for extra comfort on the forehead and ears. Even though the grey yarn in the band is mostly merino, you'd swear feeling it that it was pure cashmere. Two unique yarns from Italian mills that make for a classic beanie cap that's handsome, warm and great looking on.

This beautiful Chinese-red blend of alpaca & wool from England has worked up into a soft, thick and substantial Pussy Cap that is guaranteed to keep you warm and protected in any kind of weather. The bold accent here is provided by two bands of a heavily textured handspun yarn from Sandy Ryan that's a blend of natural dark brown lambswool and natural tan alpaca. A soft, red brushed virgin wool that I brought back with me from Spain is joined by a handspun Merino wool in its natural tan color that has strands of golden silk worked randomly into it. All of the colors shift imperceptibly throughout the cap for a different look from every angle. Fitting close to the head without squeezing it, this cap has lots of length for wearing low to the eyes and below the ears.

This is one of my signature Koigu Pussy Caps, crocheted three stands thick with the world famous Koigu Merino wool from Canada that's been handpainted by the mother & daughter team of Maie and Taiu Landra of Ontario. The three strands of red yarn here have very subtle variations along their length that really bring the yarn to life. Accenting in the band are three more strands of Koigu Merino - two deep blue and one a pallet of golds, browns and muted olive greens. This yarn was originally developed for socks, so it has a lot of elasticity and strength. But it's amazingly soft and supple and makes for a warm, protective beanie that'll probably last as long as you do. The fit is close to the head and the cap will stay put down low around the eyebrows and bottoms of the ears. But the amazing stretch inherent in the yarns and crocheting will also make this a really comfortable fit.

I coupled it with an olive green merino from Italy that was millspun in a curly boucle style. This is Lisa Souza's new yarn called Fat Bunny. Here we have it in a colorway called Sapphire and the quality of the yarn is indeed gem-like. The Italians make some of the world's nicest yarns and they're particularly good with merino wool since they use so much of it in their clothing. Here is a great example of an Italian millspun merino wool in olive green. The curly style of spinning you see is called boucle` and it adds a tremendous amount of softness, lightness and loft to the yarn. The result here is a really soft, lightweight and stretchy Pussy Cap that's accented with a trim of hand-dyed silk from California. Man oh man did this one turn out nice! Two yarns together as one - a natural charcoal Peruvian alpaca and a handpainted blend of merino and silk from Lisa Souza in a stunning colorway called Mohmbasa. The top is finished in my signature Four Corners style and the cap is also trimmed around the edge with the Mohmbasa. It's fully reversible and can be worn in two or three totally different ways depending on your mood. I have one in my personal collection similiar to this and I haven't stopped wearing it since I made it several weeks ago. I think you're really gonna love this one.

Lusciously soft and one of the most beautiful reds in a yarn I've ever seen. It's a millspun alpaca/silk blend from Peru` and I coupled it with a wonderfully soft Peruvian alpaca in natural blacks, browns and tans. Coupled with it in alternating rows is a beautiful red wool from Uruguay that was kettle-dyed and handspun by the women of a rural co-op. I used two spectacular yarns crocheted as one for this ultra-thick Pussy Cap - the lighter tan yarn is one of my all-time favorites and is blended from equal parts qiviut, alpaca and merino in their natural colors. It comes from a small mill in Canada and is called Northern Mist. Truly one of the most amazing yarns I've ever worked with. Joining it is a gorgeous Peruvian tweed yarn spun from several natural colors of superfine alpaca. The combination of these two yarns is luscious and I think once you own it you'll have to agree with me that it's something very very special.
