This Kahuna Pussy Cap starts out with a band of jet black baby alpaca, handspun by Lisa Souza. Into it are nestled three rows of triangles crocheted with a gorgeous handspun yarn that's a blend of natural brown alpaca & red sari silk. That same yarn is then repeated for the rest of the cap with a band of the baby alpaca near the top. This is a richly colored, thick and roomy Kahuna that will provide lots of softness and warmth because of the alpaca yarns. Hover over the images to see more.

Lisa Souza's masterpiece of colorwork in a pure Mongollian cashmere yarn called Joseph's Coat. Lisa first handpainted the raw cashmere fibers and then handspun them into this yarn whose colors blend imperceptibly one into the other as they wind their way to a small crown of natural black baby alpaca, also from Lisa's spinning wheel. This is an extraordinarily beautiful Pussy Cap with the softness and lightness that cashmere is famous for. An easy, classic, beanie cap fit.

In my signature Laguna style is this new limited edition series nicknamed The Roadkill Caps. A friend of mine dubbed them that because of the possum and raccoon furs in them. This particular Roadkill cap starts out with a rare handspun yarn blended from buffalo & yak down in their natural brown and tan colors. Accenting in the band is a natural black handspun llama yarn, a handspun blend of natural ivory raccon fur & cashmere and finally a maroon blend of possum fur & merino from New Zealand. Thick, soft, warm and bold this easy fitting cap comes low to the eyes and below the ears.

$140.00  Cap #246 Sold
This very special Kahuna Pussy Cap is 100% pure baby alpaca in its natural black and brown colors. Both yarns were handspun by Lisa Souza with the brown coming from the first shearing of an alpaca cria named Risa and the black coming from one of her ranch mates named Whidbey. This is the last of the yarn that was spun from Risa's first fleece and it's worked up here on a smaller hook so it's thick, substantial and durable. Since alpaca is at least 8 times warmer than wool this is the perfect cap for cold winter days and nights. Big, roomy and stunning on, this extraordinarily soft and beautiful Kahuna Pussy Cap will provide its lucky owner with a lifetime of stylish comfort and warmth.

In my signature Laguna style is this new limited edition series nicknamed The Roadkill Caps. A friend of mine dubbed them that because of the possum and raccoon furs in them. This particular Roadkill cap starts out with an exquisite yarn that's a blend of raccoon fur & cashmere in a natural warm ivory. Accenting in the band is a handspun yarn blended from buffalo & yak down in natural brown and tan colors, a maroon blend of possum fur & merino from New Zealand and a natural deep brown llama yarn handspun by Marsha Berkemeier. Thick, warm and extremely soft this easy fitting cap comes low to the eyes and below the ears.

Qiviut is one of the world's rarest and most prized natural animal fibers, coming from the downy undercoat of the Arctic Musk Ox and collected by the Inuit of Canada. It is so soft, lightweight and luxurious that it almost defies description. Supplies are extremely limited and my stash of this beautiful Qiviut yarn is almost gone as the custom orders have lined up one behind the other. One of the great things about Qiviut is the way it plumps up and blooms after a few wearings, taking on a fur-like appearance that makes the caps even softer than they were to begin with, if such a thing is even possible. This gorgeous Qiviut Pussy Cap is going to a very lucky Barbara in San Francisco.

I was grinning the entire time I was making this cap because it's so soft and so beautifully textured. These two handspun, naturally colored yarns really are a match made in Pussy Cap heaven. First is a tan baby camel down that alternates every other row with a handspun blend of white angora fur and tan suri baby alpaca, all in their natural colors. Soft and supple with an easy fit this is a Pussy Cap that's going to bring someone a lot of pleasure and warmth for a lot of years.

Another astonishingly beautiful handspun yarn from Lisa Souza's Rare Treasures collection is this 100% pure angora fur in a colorway called Angora Dawn. Aside from telling you that this is a roomy, blissfully soft and toasty warm Pussy Cap, I think the picture says everything you need to know.

A great new addition to the Kahuna Pussy Cap collection is this beauty that boasts a handspun blend of raccoon fur & cashmere in their natural, warm-toned dove grey colors. This thick, furry and lusciously soft yarn was custom spun for me by Gayle Paige of Oregon and is supported in the band by a natural jet-black handspun baby alpaca yarn from Lisa Souza. A big, thick, ultra-soft Kahuna Pussy Cap that will keep you toasty warm and looking good.

Brand new from Lisa Souza's Rare Treasures collection of handspun yarns is Mahogany, a 100% pure angora fur that she handpainted in one of the richest, most beautiful and interesting pallets of color I've ever seen. If yarn could be wood, this is what it would look like. Luxuriously soft with an easy, comfortable fit, this Pussy Cap finally puts angora within easy reach of the guys while still being perfect for the gals too. Once again redefining the words "wearable art."

When it comes to millspun yarns the Italians are hard to beat and as ample proof of that I offer you this luscious baby alpaca yarn from Italy spun in a curly boucle` style. The extraordinary softness of baby alpaca is further enhanced by this style of spinning that in concert with the loose crocheting creates a cap that feels like a handful of goose down instead of yarn. A little bit of wool was spun in with the baby alpaca although it's impossible to tell it's there. I chose plum and creamy white for this simple, elegant Pussy Cap that'll be as much fun to hold in your hands as it is to wear on your head. An easy fit with low to the eyes and below the ears comfort. Hover over the images for more views.

Two of Lisa Souza's handspun yarns are combined here for an ultra-soft, lightweight and warm Pussy Cap. Starting out we have Lisa's handpainted yarn called Mesa, her interpretation of the colors of the Desert Southwest in a downy-soft blend of angora fur and merino wool. Alternate rows are crocheted from a naturally colored jet-black baby alpaca yarn that perfectly matches and balances the Mesa. An easy fitting beanie cap with lots of length and stretch for wearing low to the eyes and below the ears or back on the head with a nice drape at the crown. Subtle richness and beautiful on.

100% pure Canadian Qiviut yarn has gone into this simple but luxurious custom Pussy Cap for a client on the east coast. As with all of my Qiviut Pussy Caps, the yarn is doubled which adds to the already amazing softness inherent in Qiviut. One of the world's rarest and most prized natural animal fibers, Qiviut comes from the downy undercoat of the Arctic Musk Ox and is so soft and beautiful that it almost defies description. Many times warmer than wool and a thrill to wear next to the skin, Qiviut is extremely limited and the yarn is expensive. It's well worth the investment though because Qiviut works up into an heirloom quality beanie cap that's as functional as it is sensuous to hold and to wear.

From Lisa Souza's Rare Treasures collection is this 100% pure angora fur yarn, handpainted in a colorway called Angora Dawn and handspun to perfection. An exquisitely soft and beautiful Pussy Cap, this is also a very functional one as angora fur is eight to ten times warmer than wool. The smaller hook I used for the crcoheting keeps the stitches close together so this is definitely a beanie for those colder days and nights. A long, roomy cap with plenty of give for any size head that will start to bloom from the moment you start wearing it.

Pure handspun, handpainted merino wool from Lisa Souza in a subtle pallet of blues called Otago creates the foundation for this uniquely colored Pussy Cap. Accenting is a band of triangles double crocheted in jet black handspun angora fur from Chile. With a little bit of warmth from your head the angora fur will bloom and create quite an amazing halo around the border of the cap. The angora around the ears and forehead will also provide an extra layer of warmth, making this a perfect winter cap. A comfortable, easy fit with lots of length and lots of stretch for any size head.

A pair of matching Pussy Caps for my grandsons Tristan and Aidan. Both are made from a really nice Italian millspun yarn that's a blend of merino wool & cashmere. This yarn might be mostly merino but it feels like it's mostly cashmere.

Caps #287 & 288
I combined three of Lisa Souza's handspun treasures here for a downy soft and beautifully colored Pussy Cap. The brown is her Mahogany Angora, the corals, lavenders & blues are her Angora Dawn and in between them is her handspun baby alpaca in its natural jet black color. Otherworldly softness and uncompromising warmth no matter how cold the weather.

One of my new clients saw one of my Pussy Caps in progress and when she tried it on we both realized that with a few special touches it would work really well for her as a headband to accent her long black dreaded braids. With a few modifications this is what we came up with. This is the ever popular Joseph's Coat cashmere from Lisa Souza's Rare Treasures Collection. The band is tapered in back for a comfortable fit with plenty of width to still cover the ears. A really nice alternative to a full beanie cap for those who want to let their hair show while keeping their ears warm.

$45.00 - Pussy Band #305  Sold
A custom Mush Puppy Pussy Cap for my buddy Richard who helped me choose the colors. In addition to the downy soft, natural white Samoyed yarn this cap has a monochromatic band that consists of natural ivory cashmere, natural grey angora fur and a yarn that's a natural tan blend of Qiviut, alpaca & merino. It's amazing how many beautiful colors there are in natural animal fibers and how well so many of them work together. Consider this: the yarns in this Pussy Cap come from a dog, a rabbit, a goat, a musk ox, a sheep and an alpaca. It's like wearing the whole darn farm on your head!

$120.00 - Cap #301 Sold
This luxurious ivory cashmere in its natural color is one of the softest and most beautiful I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Custom spun for me in this ultra thick weight by Kristen Worthington of Utah, this cashmere Pussy Cap is the stuff dreams are made of. I crocheted it on a smaller hook so it's thick and protective as well as being indescribably soft and smooth. Not surprisingly, it sold before I could even get it on the website.
